Architectural rendering in Spain:
a guide for international clients.
You are developing, selling or buying property in Spain from abroad, and you need images of something that does not exist yet. This is how the process works here — and what a Spanish studio brings that a remote one cannot.
Short answer: Architectural rendering in Spain is usually quoted per image and image type, not per square metre, with additional views of the same project costing less because the 3D model is built once. A Spanish studio adds local knowledge — light, planning constraints and buyer expectations — to the technical work.
Why a Spanish studio
for a Spanish project.
Rendering is technical work delivered online, so in principle any studio in the world can do it. In practice, three things are hard to get right from far away:
- The light. Mediterranean light is the product in most coastal projects. Rendering it with the real orientation and latitude of the plot — not a generic sunny sky — is what makes a villa in Mallorca look like it is in Mallorca.
- The planning context. Coastal plots, protected landscapes and historic centres come with strict visual scrutiny. Photo-integration on real photographs of the site is often what a municipal review needs to see.
- The buyer. Northern European buyers are, quite literally, buying light and view. Knowing what they look for changes which images get produced.
How pricing works
| Factor | How it affects the quote |
|---|---|
| Image type | Interior, exterior and photo-integration are different jobs at different prices |
| Number of views | The first view includes building the 3D model; each additional view costs much less |
| Level of finish | Your actual specification versus generic library materials |
| Revision rounds | One round is standard; extra rounds are quoted separately |
| Deadline | Rush jobs usually carry a surcharge |
How to compare quotes: ask every studio for the same four things in writing — number of views and what each shows, revision rounds included, output resolution, and a delivery date. Without those, two prices are not comparable.
The process, step by step
| Step | What happens | Typical timing |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Brief | You send plans, specification and the purpose of the images | — |
| 2. Quote | Fixed price, scope and schedule in writing | 24 h |
| 3. First draft | One image to agree camera, light and materials | 72 h |
| 4. Production | All remaining views with the agreed direction | Days |
| 5. Delivery | High resolution, plus web and social formats | — |
Where we work most
- Mallorca, Ibiza and the Balearics — luxury villas and small premium developments for international buyers.
- Costa del Sol — off-plan developments and branded residences.
- Costa Brava and Girona — villas and historic-centre projects, with French-language material when needed.
- Canary Islands and Alicante — holiday homes and resort projects.
Working remotely is the norm, not the exception. We have been an online studio since 2004: plans by email, drafts reviewed on screen, final files delivered by link. Time zones across Europe are close enough that feedback loops stay within the same working day. Communication in English is standard, and confidentiality agreements are available for off-market projects.
For a deeper look at the premium segment, see our Spanish-language guide to renders for luxury villas, and our virtual tours, which let a buyer walk through a property before travelling.

How much does an architectural rendering cost in Spain?
It is quoted per image and image type rather than per square metre. Interiors usually start lower than exteriors, photo-integration costs more because of the site-matching work, and additional views of the same project are cheaper because the 3D model is built only once.
Can a Spanish studio work with me remotely in English?
Yes. The whole process — sending plans, reviewing drafts and receiving final files — happens online, and communication in English is standard. European time zones keep feedback within the same working day.
Do you sign confidentiality agreements?
Yes. Off-market developments, private villas and unreleased projects are regularly handled under NDA, and nothing is published without the client's explicit permission.
